Authorities are investigating a motorcycle, which they believed was
used for carrying explosives that rocked the Batasan Pambansa
complex in Quezon City Tuesday night, killing one, and hurting at
least 12 others including three House members.
Radio dzBB quoted National Capital Region Police chief Director
Geary Barias as saying that investigators are getting leads from
the motorcycle that was burned in the incident. The blast took
place barely a minute after the adjournment of a congressional
session at past 8 p.m., dzBB said, quoting information from the
police.
The loud explosion killed Marcial Talvo, driver of Gabriela
party-list Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan. The blast also hurt Ilagan, and
congressmen Henry Teves of Negros Oriental and Wahab Akbar of
Basilan. Ilagan, Teves and Akbar are all first-term lawmakers. -
