Two lawmakers on Friday called on the management of ABS-CBN Channel 2 to stop airing the controversial noontime television show “Wowowee" hosted by Willie Revillame.

According to a Sun-Star report posted Friday night, Congressmen Dan Fernandez of Laguna and Magtanggol Gunigundo II of Valenzuela said they were dismayed over reports of alleged rigging in the program, which they believe should meet an end right away. Fernandez, a former actor, said continuing with “Wowowee" would not erase public perception about the incident of alleged cheating in “Wilyonaryo," a new segment, during its August 20 episode, which the management of ABS-CBN Channel 2 said had encountered a technical glitch.

The Valenzuela lawmaker also underscored the need for ABS-CBN Channel 2 to promote programs that would teach people the value of hard work as a means of earning for their daily subsistence instead of giving them false hope through big prizes.
