A sub-commander of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) insisted on Sunday that rebel forces will not stand down until the government resumes negotiations for the Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain (MOA-AD) that seeks to expand the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
At the same time, the MILF sub-chief identified as "Commander Anderson" told ABS-CBN News in Lanao del Sur that the rebel group will not give up sub-commanders Bravo and Umbra Kato.

The three major telecommunications companies may extend their short-term reduction in fees on text messages sent between networks, Malacanang announced Wednesday.
In separate letters sent to the Office of the President, Smart Communications, Globe Telecoms, and Sun Cellular said they may extend their move to reduce fees on text messages sent between networks from P1 to 50 centavos if approved by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
Sun Cellular is implementing the reduced fees for a promotional period of three months. In its letter to the Palace, Sun Cellular said it would "continue to offer it beyond the promo period" in response to the "warm reception" of its clients.

Saying the law must be applied even if it may be harsh, Bureau of Customs officials and employees will not return a total of P402 million in cash rewards, which they received in 2006 for exceeding target collections.
At the same time, Customs Commissioner Napoleon Morales Jr. told reporters after the second Senate hearing on rampant smuggling in the country that they are expecting to receive bigger rewards this year, never mind if this will be because of higher value-added taxes collected from surging oil prices.
Morales said that in the first place, Finance Secretary Margarito Teves would not issue a refund order because it was decided by a committee composed of different government agencies.
