Police in the Philippine capital Manila are preparing for unrest as the court case against former president Joseph Estrada draws to an end. The actor-turned-president was impeached seven years ago and charged with corruption and perjury. Around 15,000 police have taken up position in the city because the Government fears there will be riots if he is found guilty. Estrada is still popular among opposition groups and in 2001 his supporters tried to storm the presidential palace.
