The more he dilly-dallies on testifying on the $329.48-million ZTE broadband network deal mess, the more former Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. is getting doubting Thomases at the Senate. On Sunday, opposition Sen. Panfilo Lacson said he will no longer believe De Venecia's claims until he sees the ousted House leader actually taking the witness stand. "I will say it straight. Di ako naniniwalang magte-testify siya until such time makita ko siya sa harap namin at sumasagot sa tanong namin. Ilang beses na kasing nagsasabi magte-testify may balak mag-testify pero matagal mabuti mainam na yung huwag na asahan (I'll say it straight. I will not believe he will testify until I see him actually do so. He has said so many times he will testify but has not done so. It's better not to expect him to do so)," Lacson said in an interview on dzBB radio. Shortly after he lost the speakership, De Venecia threatened to tell all on the ZTE mess, as well as other irregularities involving the Arroyo administration. But he has remained mum on when he would come out. His last "delay" involved a trip abroad where he supposedly had a checkup.
